Most companies who know nothing about seo, sell a service or a software that guarantees thousands of visitors. What they guarantee as well is that your website will get listed in a hundred thousand search engine instantly.
Well, all that is a scam. First of all, submitting to search engines is a waste of time, simple because it’s not the right way to get indexed.
You see, years ago search engines where receiving millions of requests from webmasters. Everyone asking them to index their website. What did they do? They simple placed a submission form on their website… so no one emails them again, they just fill the form right?
But do you think search engines actually manually review all the submissions and get the sites indexed? No way. In fact it’s just a way to shut down on the requests webmasters used to make.
Indexing of websites is done automated. You can submit your website using the submission form and wait and see that you won’t get indexed. The way to get indexed is by getting backlinks… regularly and especially one way links to get indexed. Then stick with link exchanges and one way links as well. Both required unlike what some folks say.
By getting backlinks, spiders find your website, and see that many websites link to it, that means it is very useful. People like it, they link to it, so they index it, since it’s a good site to have in the index.
That’s what they think… what they are programmed for. So avoid these services that submit your website to thousands of search engines, not even to one search engine. All waste of time.
Some sort of automated way I recommend to help get your website and even your inner pages indexed, is by submitting a xml sitemap to Google webmaster tools and a url text file to Yahoo. There are free tools that create these for you.
Don’t be the next scam victim. Their business is around a dream. A dream of getting tons of traffic from thousands of search engines, plus getting your website indexed in a snap. A business around a dream is a business that makes money.
Money buys traffic, and most of these companies you can find them in the Pay Per Click section of Google. Millions of users everyday get online, so they have plenty of customers of course, even though no repeated customers.
So two important points here, you must know the right knowledge in seo, probably like anything else, since the Internet is filled with scams and people who just want the money.

True to the last letter: “beware, the internet is full of scams” Nice article on search engine submissions. I agree on the futility of instant submission services
